About CKP's Founder and Owner

K.M. Walton is the award-winning author of Cracked, Empty, and Ultimatum. Each standalone young adult novel shines a light on the hideous effects of bullying. She started Camp Kindness Press where she released her debut picture book series, Gus Goon Says Goon Morning, Gus Goon Says Goon Afternoon, and Gus Goon Says Goon Night, as well as her 21-Day Guided Journal series. Each release from Camp Kindness Press is crafted to help children and adults better their lives with more kindness and empathy. She offers highly engaging and powerful staff development and workshop opportunities for classrooms/schools/districts. K.M. adapted her debut contemporary YA novel, Cracked, into a full-length play, edited and contributed to her music-focused YA anthology, Behind the Song, and co-authored Teaching Numeracy: 9 Critical Habits to Ignite Mathematical Thinking for mathematics teachers K - 8. She graduated from West Chester University with a degree in elementary education and spent most of her teaching career in middle school teaching language arts. Mean people baffle her which is why she’s so passionate about acceptance. K.M. gives school presentations and runs workshops—elementary school through university level—titled: The Power of Human Kindness. She’s also a self-taught abstract painter with an emphasis on layers and texture (peruse her art HERE). K.M. lives in PA with Team Walton, which includes her husband and two sons.
